UPSC 2015 results: Youngest topper Tina Dabi terms her success ‘stuff of dreams’

22-year old Lady Shri Ram alumnus, Tina Dabi loves watching movies and likes to paint, has come out with flying colors in the Civil Services Examination 2015. She has become an inspiration to many securing 1st Rank in her first attempt at UPSC examinations.

UPSC 2015 results: Youngest topper Tina Dabi terms her success 'stuff of dreams'

Delhi, May 11: Tina Dabi, the Delhi girl went for a nap last night as usual wondering what will follow the next morning, for the result of Union Public Service Commission are to come out the next day. Tina says, she was confident that she would clear the exams so she was not very much worried. However to her fate and efforts, with results declared Tina has been named the youngest applicant to not only get through but also top the prestigious Civil Services examination 2015 in the first attempt.

Tina says “I did expect I would make it to the list because my exams went well, but number 1 – that’s something that I would call the stuff of dreams.” As quoted on Business Standard. Tina wanted to inspire girls by clearing the UPSC exams in first attempt. Now that she has topped the examination in the first attempt, Tina is surely an inspiration to many. Relatives and friends have been visiting her home since morning and her phone has been buzzing with congratulatory calls and messages. Dabi, calls herself a typical Delhi girl. She loves watching English television shows and is a movie buff. She like to paint and have a knack for Madhubani paintings. With such a fun loving and pleasant personality, Dabi has been brilliant at her studies ever since and one can write a chronology of her topping at studies. Tina’s mother said that the girl used to study for eight to 10 hours a day. Her father revealed that she was announced as the Student of the Year, while she was in graduation college. No wonder, she ranked 1st out of 1078 candidates.

Intelligence flows in the genes of Tina’s family. Both her parents are Indian Engineering Services Officers. However, Tina’s mother has taken a voluntary retirement from the job. Tina shares the credit of excelling in the civil services examination and having strong values as young girl and a woman with her Mom and her graduation college. She graduated in 2014 from Political Science stream and is an alumni of Lady Shri Ram College. Quite an impressive academic record! Tina is the first and youngest applicant to top the exams in the first attempt. But there are others as well who in past have cleared the UPSC exams in the first attempt. With 34th rank Arun Raj from Tamil Nadu, an alumni of IIT Kanpur cracked IAS in his first attempt. He had anthropology optional. Arun while talking to ForumIAS revealed that he never took any coaching and relied on NCERT Textbooks. He used to save notes of important topics online and also make noted from The Hindu. He believes that UPSC wants a jack of all trade to crack their exams and they make no excuses.

The young Dabi, topper of Civil Services Examination 2015, has chosen Haryana as her preferred cadre, as she has always wanted to work in a challenging state. She believes there is lot to be done for women empowerment in Haryana and they should be given more chance to work in the administration.
