New Delhi, September 19: At least 17 soldier have lost their lives and around 20 have been injured in what is being called the deadliest attack to hit Indian defence establishment in more than a decade. The general sentiment across the country is of anger and frustration against the terror attacks which hit an army administrative base in Jammu and Kashmir’s Uri. Expressing this, some Border Securty Force jawans made a video where one of them is reciting a poem which warns Pakistan of facing destruction if doesn’t mend its ways.
The lead soldier started by calling out the cowardice of those behind this attack, saying they don’t have the courage to face the army at war so instead they resort to terrorism. In an indirect reference, he said that Indian forces will change the face of Pakistan, and regardless of how history has been, they would change the geography of the region. He then went on to say that the two countries will unify after years of partition, so much so that even the river Ganga will change its path to pass through Lahore and an Indian flag will be waved at Islamabad.

Speaking of destruction, he said everything till Rawalpindi and Karachi will be destroyed and both sides of river Sindh will be Bharat, unlike now when one side Pakistan and the other side is India. The BSF jawan said that such a scenario won’t have a devil like (Mohammed Ali) Jinnah. One of the key lines his poem was, “Kashmir toh hoga lekin Pakistan nahi hoga” (There will be Kashmir, but there won’t be a Pakistan).

Then in an open warning to Pakistan, he said: “Don’t even dare to mess with us or else we will remove you from the World Map. The video is intended to send a strong message to the perpetrators of the Uri attack, from Indian BSF jawans. This is the second attack on India’s defence establishment in less than a year. In January, militants from Pakistan entered and attacked an air base in Pathankot, killing seven military personnel.
This video aptly captures what many people across India are feeling. Pakistan has categorically denied any involvement in the attack, and even set up a hotline between Director General of Military Operations of both countries to reject India’s assertion. Many on this side of this border, from celebrities to the families of the martyred, are demanding strict action. The two countries will go head-to-head at the United Nations this week. Pakistan’s Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif will be raising the issue of Kashmir and Indian will counter it by drawing attention to the Baloch struggle. India is also likely to call Pakistan out on it constant support for terrorism.
