Washington: America’s most advanced fifth-generation fighter jet F-35 and upgraded F-16 are no longer going to be included in the Aero India show going to be held in the city of Bangalore, India.
Earlier, it was being said that American fighter jets will demonstrate their strong strength during the Aero India show to be held from February 10 to 14. Not only this, it is also being said that Russia can send its most modern fighter Sukhoi-57.
Russian President Vladimir Putin is scheduled to visit India this year and media reports say that he can offer this fighter jet to India. In such a situation, many questions are arising from the US’ sudden decision not to send the F-35.
According to an IDRW report, the F-35 was considered to be the main attraction during the Aero India show, but now the announcement of its absence has shocked many. The Combat Command of the US Air Force (USAF) demonstrates this fighter jet. It has now announced that it is not going to attend the Aero India show in India.
Aero India is the largest aerospace show in Asia. In this, countries from around the world demonstrate their new military and civilian technology. Analysts are surprised by this decision of the US. So far, the US Air Force has often displayed its large presence during the Aero India show.
The US Air Force has not given the exact reason for not coming to India. During such demonstrations, knowledge exchange takes place between various Air Forces.
According to media reports, Russia can display its Sukhoi-57 fighter jet in this exhibition going to be held just before Putin’s visit to India. India is constantly lagging behind in terms of fifth-generation fighter jets and Russia is seeing this as an opportunity. That too when India’s Tejas fighter jet programme is also lagging behind. It is believed that Putin can push for this jet deal on his visit to India.
Aero India is going to be held at Yelahanka Air Force Station in Bengaluru. This will be the first time that the Russian Sukhoi-57 will come to India. Earlier in November, the Russian aircraft went to China’s Zhuhai Airshow. This was the first demonstration of the Sukhoi-57 in another country. It is Russia’s fifth-generation fighter jet, built at the Amur Aviation Plant in Komsomolsk.
Russia hopes that through this, it will be able to give a befitting reply to America’s F-35 and China’s J-20. However, no official announcement has been made by Russia about the arrival of Sukhoi-57 in India so far.
India has been a major buyer of Russian fighter jets for decades. Sukhoi and MiG series aircraft have been the strength of the Indian Air Force (IAF). However, now India is diversifying and expanding it from countries like the US and France.
