Meerut, Jan 14: A 15-year-old girl was abducted from Modinagar area of Ghaziabad district in Uttar Pradesh and then allegedly gangraped and murdered by a group of youths. Her mutilated body, with marks of torture with cigarette butts, was found in a filed in Meerut’s Partapur area on Friday. The daughter of a temple priest, who was a class X student, went missing some 15 days back. An FIR was registered under sections 363 (kidnapping) and 366 (abducting a woman to compel her for marriage) of IPC against unidentified persons on the complaint of her father, who had also produced a mobile number of one of the kidnappers, at Modinagar police station on December 27. Speaking to The Times of India, the girl’s family said that on December 26, her mother had reprimanded her over a mobile phone which was not given by her parents. The Meerut police recovered the body on Friday and has sent it for post-mortem. Several teams have also been formed to probe the matter.

In a similar incident, a week before, a 16-year-old girl was gangraped and murdered after being kidnapped from NH 91 in Bulandshahr, Uttar Pradesh.
