New Delhi, May 29: Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Rajesh Sahni, posted at the Uttar Pradesh Anti-Terrorism Squad  was reportedly found dead under mysterious circumstances on Tuesday.  As per a report in The Indian Express, Sahni, a 1992 batch Provincial Police Services(PPS)officer, allegedly committed suicide by shooting himself with a revolver. Reports claimed that Sahni’s body was recovered at the Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) office in Lucknow situated at the Gomti Nagar police station. Police has not yet recovered any suicide note from his possession. Also Read - ATS officer commits suicide

Notably, the incident came days after former Maharashtra Anti-Terror Squad (ATS) chief Himanshu Roy ended his life by shooting himself. Roy reportedly put a gun inside his mouth and pulled the trigger, killing himself. He was rushed to Bombay Hospital where he was declared brought dead. Roy was serving as ADG in the Maharashtra Police at present.

Roy, an IPS officer of the 1988 batch, has been known for being a brave police official. He had arrested actor Vindhu Dara Singh in 2013 in the IPL Spot fixing case. Roy also played an important role in cracking the murder case of journalist Jyotirmoy Dey.
