Uttar Pradesh Crime: In a horrifying incident, a teenage girl was allegedly abducted by her neighbour and raped for months in a village of Ballia district in Uttar Pradesh, before being rescued by the police on Sunday. According to the police, the 16-year-old girl was kidnapped by the accused, identified as Vishesh Tiwari alias Raja from near her house on February 7 this year.
Giving details, a senior police official said the accused, Tiwari, held the teen captive and raped her multiple times over the period of around two-and-a-half months.
“The girl was kidnapped by one Vishesh Tiwari alias Raja, a native of a village under the Sahatwar Police Station on February 7,” Superintendent of Police Dev Ranjan Verma told reports.
The officer said the girl’s mother filed a complaint with the police, based on which a case under sections 363 (kidnapping) and 366 (kidnapping, abducting or inducing woman to compel her marriage) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) was registered against Tiwari.
Tiwari was arrested by the police from his house on Sunday and the minor was rescued from his clutches after nearly three months, the SP said.
In her testimony to the police, the girl narrated her horrifying ordeal, alleging that the accused repeatedly raped her for over two and a half months since he abducted her.
Later, based on the victim’s testimony, section 376 (rape) of the IPC and section of the POCSO Act were also added to the case, police said, adding that further investigation is underway.
