New Delhi, Aug 19: In a strange incident, a man chopped off his wife’s tongue when she stopped him from drinking alcohol. The incident was reported from Kanpur city of Uttar Pradesh.
According to the DNA report, the police have registered a case against the husband who is on the run. The victim was admitted at the Hospital where she underwent a surgery to stop the bleeding.
Neighbours informed the police about the crime. Police said that accused Shakil Ahmed (40) was addicted to drugs and alcohol. He would often pick-up fights with his wife Gudia (32) and beat her up in an inebriated state whenever she requested him to quit bad habits.
“On Friday night, he returned home drunk. When Gudia objected, he thrashed her badly and then took a scissor and slashed her tongue in anger. He fled after the incident. We informed the police and took profusely bleeding Gudia to the hospital,” informed a neighbour.
“We have registered a case against Shakil and attempts are being made to arrest him,” said Atul Srivastava, the SHO Colonelganj.
In a similar incident, a man had chopped off his wife’s nose when she stopped him from drinking alcohol in Bahadurpur village. According to incident Sangita (35) entered into a fight with her husband over his drinking habit, an infuriated Rajesh Kumar then chopped off her nose.
The woman was rushed to a hospital. An FIR was registered against Kumar in this regard, the police added.
