The victim alleged that she had gone away with her neighbour Dharmender Lodhi but on March 10, a few villagers brought them back to the village. She claimed that from 7 AM to 2 PM, her hands were tied and her husband Saudan Singh beat her mercilessly with belt and sticks, in full public view
“A few people did protest but no one came forward to rescue me. Later, a few village men took me inside our house and molested me, labelling me a prostitute. The former pradhan even made a video of my humiliation. After my ordeal, I was asked to stay quiet about the whole issue or I would be killed,” The Financial Express quoted the woman’s statement.
