New Delhi, July 30: Ten persons were killed and seven others injured as heavy rains lashed various parts of Uttar Pradesh during the past 24 hours, said a senior official today. In the last week alone, a total of 11 deaths were reported in Saharanpur district. Relief Commissioner Sanjay Prasad said, “10 persons were killed and seven injured in different parts of the UP since yesterday. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed senior officials of all the districts to extend financial and medical assistance to the residents of affected areas. According to a government spokesperson, the chief minister has made arrangements to ensure that people in dilapidated buildings vacate the place immediately.

Several parts of Lucknow, including areas like Gomtinagar, Indiranagar, Hazratganj, and Mahanagar suffered from the problem of waterlogging which in turn created traffic jams. Due to flooding, water pumps are being used in areas where senior ministers and bureaucrats like Vikramaditya Marg, Dalibagh, and Kalidas Marg so as to flush out the water.
