Lucknow, Jan 7: An accident in Uttar Pradesh’s Firozabad claimed the lives of at least 11 persons. The eyewitnesses to the tragic accident said the truck, after taking a right turn, on a national highway lost its balance and crushed people who were sitting in a three-wheeler and a car. “The accident took place around 4 pm when the truck, travelling from Agra to Kanpur, lost its balance after taking a sharp right turn on the busy national highway and hit and fell on a three-wheeler, a car and some passers-by,” PTI quoted Superintendent of Police Manoj Kumar as saying. Kumar said the number of casualties may rise after the injured persons were rushed to the nearest hospital. Firozabad District Magistrate Neha Sharma informed that those who have lost their lives include, two women, a youth, six men and two children. Sharma added, “As many as 10 people died on the spot, while a critically injured man succumbed to his injuries on way to Agra.” Also Read - Another Dip! “Of the deceased, identity of four have been ascertained so far. They are Manoj (35), a resident of Mainpuri, his 12- year-old son Himanshu and nine-year-old son Pranshu. The person who was critically injured and later died, has been identified as Pankaj, also a resident of Mainpuri,” said Sharma.
