New Delhi: An under-construction building collapsed in Uttar Pradesh’s Lucknow city on Thursday. The incident took place in Gomti Nagar area. No casualties have been reported, news agency ANI tweeted. A team of State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF) has reached the spot. More details are awaited. A rescue operation is underway. Locals were also seen helping the rescue team. Police have sealed the area. On October 14, one person had died after an under construction building collapsed in Shahjahanapur district of Uttar Pradesh. As per the reports, 14 people had been rescued. Initial reports had claimed that five labourers were rescued from under the debris, while several others were feared trapped.

In a similar incident on October 7, four labourers were killed and five others severely injured when the shuttering around an under-construction multi-storey building collapsed. The structure was located at Noida-Greater Noida Expressway.

The incident occurred at private real estate firm BPTP’s 18-storey ‘Capital City’ in Sector 94 when the shuttering came crashing down in the morning, the police informed.

“Nine people were injured when the shuttering of the building collapsed. Four of them have died, while five others have been hospitalised,” Senior Superintendent of Police, Gautam Buddh Nagar, Ajay Pal Sharma had said.

In connection with the case, an FIR was registered at the Sector 39 police station.

The deceased have been identified as tractor-troller driver Naushad and workers Karan, Vijaypal and Ramvijay, while the injured were Ajay, Shadaab, Mahesh, Nisaarul and Ashok.

On September 28, a 25-year-old man died allegedly after the wall of an under-construction building, where he was working, collapsed in outer Delhi’s Kirari area. The deceased, identified as Chotu Kumar, was working on the second floor of the building when its roof collapsed, police had informed.
