Uttar Pradesh: Woman gang raped in front of her husband in a vehicle

FIR have been filed under section 376D and 395 of the Indian Penal Code against unknown persons.

Uttar Pradesh, May 7: In a shocking incident, a woman was gang-raped allegedly by eight persons in front of her husband in a vehicle at Jalaun district of Uttar Pradesh. The people also looted the couples and dumped them on Auraiya-Jalaun highway. The incident took place on Thursday night when a driver of a loader van offered them a lift.

The couple work as small-time artisans and they were travelling from Jaipur, they reached Auraiya at midnight and waiting for the public transporter and in a while, a loader van offered them a lift and the couple accepted the offer and proceeded further to Jalaun. While after a short time driver halted his van at a liquor shop from where some other men boarded. Then the driver drove to a secluded spot where the eight men tied her husband and raped her in front of him, and after raping her they robbed the couple and then dumped them on the highway, police said.

According to the Additional SP of Jalaun S C Shakya, the couple managed to reached out to police at late night of Thursday and filed FIR against the unidentified eight men and the women were sent to the hospital for medical examination. We had filed the FIR against eight unknown persons under section 376D and 395 of the Indian Penal Code. The gang-raped culprits will be arrested soon. Some of the people have been rounded up, the investigation is underway, he added. Earlier in April month, a minor girl was allegedly gang-raped inside a moving vehicle in the southern part of the Kolkata’s Gariahat area.

The similar incident where occurred in 2012 on national highway 91 in Bulandshahr district of Uttar Pradesh, where women and her daughter were gang-raped who was travelling from Noida.
