New Delhi, April 21: A woman sub-inspector was allegedly suspended for demanding free pizza and chilly chicken from a restaurant owner for registering an FIR. The owner has come to the police station to register a complaint against a man who did not pay for the food in the restaurant. The owner claimed that he was duped of Rs 7000.
The incident was reported from Hasanganj police station in Lucknow city. The complainant, Rohit Berry, narrated the whole incident to Sub-inspector identified as Sumitra Devi. She wrote down the FIR and in return asked the owner to bring for free pizzas when he comes again to take the copy of the FIR.
The restaurant owner supplied order but they returned it and later paid for the ordered items. A new agency ANI reported that SSP Hirendra Kumar confirmed the suspension of the sub-inspector and said a departmental inquiry was ordered in the matter.
The whole incident was posted on social media by someone following which Uttar Pradesh police ordered an inquiry into the matter. During the investigation, it was found that Sub-Inspector Sumitra had demanded free pizza and chilly chicken for registering FIR.
