Uttarakhand, June 29: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat directed police to arrest a teacher after she protested at ‘Janata Darbar’ over issue of her transfer. CM Rawat lost his cool and suspended the teacher thereafter and asked her to leave immediately. The Uttarakhand CM got angry and asked the police to take the concerned teacher, Uttara Bahuguna into custody after she used abusive language in front of Rawat and behaved indecently.
Bahuguna who has been suspended had requested CM Rawat that she be transferred from the remote location she was placed at said that she had been posted for such odd places for the past 25 years of her career. The primary school teacher started arguing with the CM after he dismissed her case.
When the CM dismissed her request, the teacher began arguing with him. Rawat lost his cool in the process and shouted, “Suspend karo ise abhi (Suspend her immediately). Take her into police custody.” Rawat later faced flak on social media for behaving as such and Congress leaders objected to his behaviour and lack of patience. But Rawat defended himself saying that the teacher was suspended after she used abusive language during the Janata Darbar. He also added that the request fro transfer should not have been brought on a platform like the Janata Darbar, which was meant for public grievances. He further said that the tranfer orders will be looked into as per state’s transfers act and will be done accordingly.
Uttara Bahuguna is a teacher in a government primary school in Naugaon area of Uttarkashi district.
