Uttarakhand: Rains Trigger Landslide at Mussoorie’s Kempty Fall; no Casualties Reported
Heavy showers had triggered landslides at different places in the state too.
New Delhi, Jul 3: Continuous heavy rains caused landslide in Uttarakhand’s Mussoorie city on Tuesday. The horrific visual of landslide at Mussoorie’s Kempty Fall becuase of which a lot of tourists were stuck has gone viral. On Monday, heavy rain lashed many parts of India including New Delhi and national capital region. Many flights were diverted due to the bad weather.
In a few seconds video, it can be seen that a car which was parked nearby was buried under the debris of the landslide. Panic gripped the area after the landslide.

The car belonged to tourists who came from Delhi. They also had a fight with the police personnel stationed at the spot as he stopped them from parking their vehicle.
Heavy showers had triggered landslides at different places around Chamoli. The state government has issued high rainfall alert.
The India Meteorological Department had predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall in large parts of India, including several places in Jammu and Kashmir, Tamil Nadu, Assam, and Gujarat, over the next few days till Friday.
According to the IMD, heavy to very heavy rains at a few places, with extremely heavy rains at isolated places, are very likely over Uttarakhand and east Uttar Pradesh.
