New Delhi: Bihar is set to head into elections later this year, and with polling season approaching, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has intensified his campaign rallies across the state. The Central government is also launching a slew of initiatives that promoises to make the living standard of the people better and convenient. Bihar has recently received several trains, starting from passenger trains to Amrit Bharat, Vande Bharat, and the new Rajdhani Express.
It was being said that before Dussehra, a Vande Bharat Sleeper Train would be launched to provide fast and comfortable service between Patna and Delhi. However, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw dismissed this news on Tuesday. He clarified that Vande Bharat Sleeper trains will indeed be launched soon, but only after Dussehra.
Speaking to the media, Vaishnaw said, “Both trains will be launched together.” He explained that the second train is essential to ensure regular services. He further added, “That is why we are waiting for the second train. As soon as we get it, we will finalize the route and start the services.”
The BJP-led central government is likely to launch the first Vande Bharat Sleeper train between Patna and New Delhi soon. The Vande Bharat train will cover the Patna–New Delhi distance in about 12 hours. Accoording to the reports, for this train to run daily, at least two rakes are required. This is likely the reason why the Railway Ministry is waiting for the second rake to be ready.
