New Delhi, June 27: Almost 21 months after the Indian Army carried out “surgical strikes” on the terror launch pads in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) killing dozens of militants, a video of the operation, exclusively available with Zee News, was aired by the channel on Wednesday.
The video, purportedly shot by head-mounted night-vision cameras of the paratroopers from Special Forces who carried out the strikes in PoK, shows how they specifically picked the targets and bombarded them with grenades and high-tech guns with the aim of not leaving any survivor.
It clearly shows how commandos, acting on specific information about the location of terrorists, targeted and neutralised them. It also shows how Army took aim of terror launch pads and destroyed them with grenades and rocket launchers.

The video comes as a befitting reply to those who questioned the legitimacy of the surgical strikes, which lamentably included several opposition parties and a specific quarter of media.
Nearly 10 days after militants attacked the Army base camp in Uri that left 18 jawans dead on September 18, 2016, India carried out surgical strikes in PoK, killing around 40 terrorists and seven terror launch pads.
The paratroopers of the Special Force were airdropped at the LoC, from where they crossed over to the Pakistani side at around 12:30 am on September 29. Indian soldiers had entered up to three kilometres across the LoC to conduct the strikes.
Following the conclusion of the operation in around four hours, India shared the details of the surgical strikes with the Pakistani Army in the wake of “very specific information” that terrorists were positioning themselves in the launchpads along the LoC.
Days after, PM Modi, while addressing the Indian diaspora in London, had said that before going public with the surgical strikes, India waited an hour to inform Pakistan about the operation.
“Since 11 in the morning, we were trying to contact them over the phone but they were afraid and wouldn’t take our call. I had instructed our officers to tell the Pakistani army that we did it. We did not hide it. At noon, they answered the call. We told them,” PM Modi said.
