New Delhi, Oct 29: A twenty-second video has emerged in which it can be seen that a chopper of the Indian Air Force (IAF) crashed while it was dropping fuel oil along the Line of Actual Control in Tawang, Arunachal Pradesh, at the border between India and China, killing seven jawans onboard.
The video has not yet been authenticated. As seen in the video, the tail rotor of the IAF helicopter hit the fuel jerrycan when it was being air dropped and immediately the rotors broke into small pieces.
According to India Today, officials of Ministry of Defence (MoD) authenticated the video and told the channel that an investigation into this matter has revealed disturbing truth about the negligence. The Mi-17-v5 took off Khirmu airfield on October 6.

Soldiers died as the parachutes tied to the kerosene oil jerrycans were not lashed properly, revealed investigations. The probe also disclosed that jerrycans should not have been on the chopper and their handles were so delicate that they could not have held on to a parachute, said senior Mod official to India Today.
” There is a guideline on how supplies should be dropped and pilots follow the drill. We need to inquire about how these jerrycans were loaded in the chopper,” said a senior pilot.
