New Delhi, June 4:  Former Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports Vijay Goel met ex-Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and MLA Kapil Mishra on Sunday and welcomed him to join the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Goel paid a visit to the former AAP leader and said that the doors of BJP were open for him. As part of BJP’s nationwide campaign “Sampark for Samarthan”- which is being carried out in the run-up to the 2019 Lok Sabha election, Goel met Kapil Mishra and asked him to join BJP.
Goel said, “The BJP’s doors have been open for him since he parted ways with the AAP. Now he has to take a decision.” The BJP leader presented Mishra a booklet “Saaf Niyat, Sahi Vikas”- which happens to be BJP’s running slogan for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. Apart from giving the booklet, Goel also spoke to Mishra about the welfare and development schemes undertaken by the BJP government.

Kapil Mishra was removed by Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal from the Delhi government last year after the former MLA had raised his voice against Kejriwal and Delhi Minister Satyender Jain and leveled corruption charges. Goel added,”We need friends like Kapil Mishra.” He also praised Mishra for his social work too.

For the unversed, Kapil Mishra’s mother, Annapurna Mishra, is a senior BJP leader from east Delhi and also the former mayor of the East Delhi Municipal Corporation.
