Vijay Kumar Dev Appointed Delhi Chief Secretary, Replaces Anshu Prakash

New Delhi: Vijay Kumar Dev, a 1987 batch IAS officer from AGMUT (Arunachal Pradesh, Goa, Mizoram and Union Territories) cadre has been appointed as the Chief Secretary of the national capital with effect from the date of joining till further orders.
He has replaced Anshu Prakash, who was transferred last week as the Additional Secretary of the Department of Telecommunications of the central government.
The outgoing chief secretary had claimed that some Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) lawmakers, in the presence of Kejriwal and his deputy Manish Sisodia, had thrashed him leading to a standoff between the Delhi chief minister and the bureaucrats.
Dev has also served as Chandigarh UT adviser and is currently posted as CEO of Delhi, his second stint as the top official in the poll body. He had been at with Arvind Kejriwal’s Aam Admi Party over the deletion of names from voter lists.
