Visakhapatnam: A few under-construction water pipelines of the Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporations (GVMC) caught fire in Arilova area on Saturday. At least four fire tenders are present at the spot. No injuries have been reported so far.

Earlier in the evening, a fire broke out in a building in the Mandai area of Pune. Nearly six fire tenders were at the spot to control the blaze. No casualties were reported in the incident.

Another major fire broke out in the seventh floor-based flat of a building, situated in Tilak Chowk area in Mumbai’s Kalyan on Saturday evening. No casualties were reported.

The flat belongs to a businessman Ramesh Jain and is located in the Sapphire building in Kalyan. The blaze rapidly spread to the sixth-floor-based flat. All the residents were safely rescued before the fire could spread further. The reason behind the fire wasn’t known.

The fire officials said no one was inside the flat when the fire took place and after noticing the flames from the flat, the neighbours informed their team.
