New Delhi, Mar 13: VK Jain, the adviser to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, has resigned citing personal reasons and family commitments. Jain’s resignation came days after Delhi Police told a court that during interrogation, he revealed that Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLAs Prakash Jarwal and Amanatullah Khan surrounded Chief Secretary Anshu Prakash and assaulted him at Arvind Kejriwal’s residence. Jain has submitted his resignation letter to the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) and sent a copy to the Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal. He was appointed to the post of the advisor to the CM in September last year, days after he had retired as the CEO of the Delhi Urban Shelter Improvement Board (DUSIB). Jain had not been coming to the CMO since the alleged assault on Anshu Prakash and had gone on a week-long medical leave. He was questioned by Delhi Police in connection with the alleged assault. Prakash had alleged that he was beaten up by AAP MLA Amanatullah Khan and his colleague in front of Kejriwal at the latter’s residence on Monday midnight, where he was called for a meeting. Jain was present at the time of the incident, according to Prakash’s police complaint. However, Jain had earlier said that he did not see anything as he had gone to the washroom at the time of the incident.
