Bengaluru, Mar 20: Jailed AIADMK leader VK Sasikala on Tuesday walked out of Bengaluru’s Parappana Agrahara Central Jail after she was granted parole following her husband’s death. Sasikala has been granted a 15-day parole following the demise of her husband Natarajan Maruthappa on Tuesday in Chennai. Natarajan was admitted to hospital after he complained of chest infection last week. Natarajan Maruthappa died due to multiple organ failure, said the authorities of Gleneagles Global Health City hospital. He had also undergone a liver and kidney transplant last year. He was admitted to the intensive care unit (ICU), Gleneagles Global (Hospital), on March 16 with severe chest infection. Sasikala is serving four years of imprisonment in the Rs 66-crore disproportionate assets case. She was married to Natarajan for 33 years. Supreme Court had pronounced Sasikala Natarajan guilty last year and had announced 3.5-year jail term in the 21-year-old Disproportionate Assets (DA) case against her.
