Lucknow: Shivpal Singh Yadav, brother of Samajwadi Party (SP) supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav on Sunday said that he has been waiting for the past one-and-a-half years for a responsible position within the party and he is continuing to do the same.

Shivpal’s comment reminds us of the political battle which ensued between both him and party president Akhilesh Yadav before the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections nearly a year-and-a-half ago. The battle in which the two engaged reached the Election Commission was finally won by the former UP chief minister.

For the unversed, Uttar Pradesh is gearing up for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls 2019 and according to sources, Samajwadi Party (SP) is likely to tie up with Congress to form the ‘Mahagatbandhan’. If the seat sharing between both the parties is amicably resolved, 2019 polls will be a ‘Modi vs All’ kind of fight. Reportedly, Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav came to make this decision after holding a strategic party meeting earlier.

It is being said that Akhilesh Yadav has already promised at least 10-12 seats to the Congress and will soon come to a conclusion regarding the same after having a discussion with the leaders of the other parties.
