Arvind Kejriwal-led Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is on the verge of an infamous break up and looking at the proceedings in Delhi, it seems the party is self-imploding! Prashant Bhushan and Yogendra Yadav have been dropped from the national executive for anti-party activities and it is matter of time before they are out of the two year-old political party soon. The National Council on Saturday removed Bhushan and Yadav amid huge chaos. The decision comes a day after another sting stung AAP and in less than 12 hours, both the rebels were removed from the crucial positions in the party.

Yogendra Yadav termed the decision as ‘a murder of democracy’. Everything played out in accordance with a predetermined script and the resolution was moved and passed within minutes completely disregarding laid down procedures. It was a total farce.” Prashant Bhushan, who was also booted out by Kejriwal, said, “Whatever Kejriwal was heard saying in a sting yesterday was played out in the entirety in today’s meeting. There was no distinction between members and others. There was no discussion, no secret vote, no showing of votes in the meeting.”

The rebel duo alleged that the move to hire goons and kick them out was very well planned beforehand. They said the plan was hatched to remove them and other National Council members who supported them. The same news was confirmed by national council members who are tipped off to be neutral voices in AAP. The news comes across as a sorry state of affairs for Arvind Kejriwal and his Delhi-based party. Is this the new type of politics they were to teach all the existing political parties?

Sting after sting had rocked AAP party in last two weeks when Arvind Kejriwal was away in Bengaluru for his naturopathy treatment. It is ironical that the person, who pitched for doing sting operations of corrupt officials, finds himself tangled in the web of innumberable stings.

AAP founder-leader Arvind Kejriwal was in catch-22 situation last night when he was caught in an audio leak by AAP worker from Varanasi, Umesh Singh. Kejriwal was heard hurling abuses at Prashant Bhushan and Yogendra Yadav, in frustration. He also threatened to break away from AAP to create his own party. However, party loyalist Ashutosh denied the allegations and said it was a move to defame Kejriwal.

Since AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal took oath as Delhi chief Minister at Ramlila Maidan on February 14, the party is being marred in controversy after controversy. For now, what we all know that it the sixth prominent voice in the party who rose questioned Kejriwal’s credentials and were kicked out of the party. The electorate of Delhi surely didn’t give an historic mandate to go down the gutter-line!
