Nitish Kumar clarifies on breaking grand alliance in Bihar

Patna, July 31: Speaking to the media, to apprise the nation of breaking the grand alliance in Bihar with Lalu Prasad Yadav’s Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and Congress, Nitish Kumar on Monday said he couldn’t compromise with corruption. CM Kumar said he spoke to former deputy CM Tejashwi Yadav and his father and RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav regarding the charges against them. He also reportedly asked for clarification from the duo, but could not compromise with it anymore and hence left the alliance.

“Spoke and held discussions with former deputy CM of Bihar Tejashwi Yadav and RJD leader Lalu Prasad Yadav and asked them to clarify the corruption charges labeled upon them, but I decided to march forward after my requests were put aside,” stated Bihar CM. Kumar said, “Had father and son taken my point seriously, the situation today would have been different,” adding that he did not have a choice, as he tolerated everything and continued to work.

Regarding his support to the Opposition’s vice-presidential candidate Gopal Krishna Gandhi, he said, ” Will continue to support Gopal Krishna Gandhi for Vice Presidential candidate, BJP has no problem with it,”

About joining hands with the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) at the centre, Nitish, who became the CM for the sixth time, informed the proposal was put forward by the top leadership of BJP and even PM Modi has tweeted. No one is capable of challenging Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2019 Lok Sabha elections, bluntly said Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar.
