New Delhi: After the AAP government confirmed that Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal and deputy CM Manish Sisodia have been dropped from Melania Trump event at Delhi government schools, the BJP slammed the AAP for indulging in petty politics. “Petty politics should not be played on important occasions. India Government doesn’t advise USA as to whom to invite and whom to not. So, we don’t want to get into this ‘tu tu main main’,” BJP leader Sambit Patra said after the last-minute drop of the names of those who were behind the whole happiness curriculum kicked up a massive row. According to reports, Prime Minister Narendra Modi also won’t be there during Donald Trump’s Taj Mahal visit. It came as a surprise that a visit to Delhi government schools was kept in the itinerary of the First Lady as Delhi witnessed acrimonious campaigning around Delhi government schools as the BJP allegedly posted old photos of a school to dismiss claims of AAP government’s educational reforms. According to reports, Melania Trump expressed interest in Delhi school’s happiness curriculum, which includes meditation and relaxation sessions. The curriculum was introduced by the AAP government. In Ahmedabad, President Trump will address the ‘Namaste Trump’ event jointly with Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the newly built Motera cricket stadium. “It will be similar to the landmark ‘Howdy, Modi!’ event hosted by the Indian-American community in honour of Prime Minister Modi during his visit to Houston in September 2019, in which President Trump participated,” Foreign Secretary Harshvardhan Shringla had said, briefing reporters on the visit.
