New Delhi, Jul 26: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Thursday took a dig at Rahul Gandhi and agreed that the MPs do fear hugging him but will do so if the Congress president gets married. His reply came a day after Rahul Gandhi, while taking a swipe at the BJP, said that now even the MPs of the party take “two steps back” on seeing him fearing he may embrace them too. Also Read - Assault On Truth: Shashi Tharoor, Rahul Gandhi, Mohua Moitra, Others React to AltNews Founder Mohammad Zubair's Arrest

Rahul Gandhi, while addressing a book launch event on Wednesday, said, “You can fight someone with all your might, but hate is a choice… And I think that is something that is very important to understand. I may disagree with Mr (LK) Advani, I may have a completely different conception of the country from that of Mr Advani. And I can fight Mr Advani on every single inch, but I don’t need to hate him.”

The Congress chief further said that he can hug Advani and also fight him. “It is very interesting how this works, because now whenever I come across BJP MPs, they take two steps back… We have to be careful he is going to hug us,” Gandhi said amid peals of laughter.

Rahul Gandhi took everyone with surprise during the no-confidence motion in Lok Sabha last week as he walked across the aisle of the House and hugged Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This came after his speech attacking the PM over Rafale deal, corruption etc.
