Speaking on the no-confidence motion, Owaisi said, “No-Confidence Motion was moved against Modi and they hug the same person against whom they moved the motion. If I had gone and shook hands with Modi, fatwa would have got issued against me. But when he (Rahul Gandhi) hugged Modi, Congressmen didn’t utter a word.”
On July 20, BJP had won the no-confidence motion moved by the opposition parties. While speaking in the Lok Sabha, Congress President Rahul Gandhi had walked across to the ruling benches and hugged Modi, taking everyone in the Lok Sabha by surprise. He was later seen winking at party MP Jyotiraditya Scindia.
This incident has come a few days after a 28-year-old man was lynched by an agitated mob on the suspicion of him being a child-kidnapper in Alwa, Rajasthan. Following a probe, Rajasthan Home Minister Gulab Chand Kataria said that the evidence shows that Rakbar Khan, who was lynched by an agitated mob on the suspicion of being a cow smuggler, died in custody.
