Kolkata, Apr 25: Describing those responsible for the alleged attack on a family of CPI-M supporters, including a toddler, in North Dinajpur district as ‘slaughterers’, CPI-M leader Surjya Kanta Mishra today said Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee should immediately order for their arrest. Alleging that the attackers were linked to the Trinamool Congress and calling them ‘slaughterers’, Mishra said, “It’s heart-rending to see that a family and a three-and-a-half-year -old baby were attacked.” ALSO READ: West Bengal Assembly Elections 2016: Rahul Gandhi to share dais with Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee Also Read - West Bengal Assembly Elections 2021: Shiv Sena Extends Supports to TMC, Says Won’t Fight in State

“It showed how far these slaughters can go… I believe the chief minister must listen to the family’s allegations and immediately pass on orders to arrest them to send out a message to the common people… Otherwise it will be proved that she is the principal representative of these slaughters,” Mishra said. Mishra described this as a ‘resistance’ and congratulated the mother of the child for casting votes despite the attack. “I believe this is a sign of resistance that the common people are putting up,” he said. The CPI-M state secretary expressed confidence about the success of the party in the election, saying “after the first three phases of polling we said that we will surely win in over 100 seats but after today’s polls we aim for 200… And the alliance of the people is heading towards that.” Also Read - West Bengal Assembly Election 2021: Suvendu to Get Ticket From Nandigram?
