Kolkata, Apr. 25: Amidst stray incidents of electorates intimidation, inter party clashes and threats to the Central force Jawans by some ruling party candidates, the polling for 49 Assembly seats in Uttar 24-Parganas and Howrah districts recorded 78.05 percent overall turn-out till 5 p.m.  The highest polling percentage was recorded in North 24 Parganas with 79.16 percent votes polled. More than 75.46 per cent voters came out to vote in Howrah. A total of 1.08 crore voters were expected to exercise their franchise in about 12,500 polling stations.  Meanwhile, the State Additional CEO, Dibyendu Sarkar informed that two presiding officers and one polling officer were changed today under various charges. Departmental proceedings have been initiated against them.  Roopa Ganguly of the BJP was caught on camera in her constituency slapping a woman supporter of Trinamool Congress.  The party has filed a police complaint against Ganguly.
