New Delhi, Mar 12: WhatsApp has 1.5 billion monthly active users (MAUs) who are exchanging nearly 60 billion messages on a single day, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced on February 1. In India, WhatsApp currently has over 200 million monthly active users. However, there are five hidden features of WhatsApp that many may not know existed. These WhatsApp features are related to privacy, money transfer, ‘delete message’ etc.

To be hidden from the world: WhatsApp allows you to hide details of when you were last online. To prevent your friends from knowing when you were last online you can hide your ‘last seen’ time. Here’s how to do it — Go to Settings > Account > Privacy > Last Seen.

Delete a message: If you have sent a message by mistake, WhatsApp allows you to delete it. The feature works only if messages were sent less than seven minutes ago. Just tap and hold the message you want to delete. You’ll then see the pop-up window with quick links to Reply, Forward, Copy and Delete.

Add stickers to your photos and videos: You can add unique stickers to photos and videos sent to an individual recipient, or group chat via WhatsApp. You can also tag a location and the current time on any photos and videos. Select the photo or video you want to send and then tap the smiling face at the top of the screen. This will launch the stickers where you’ll now find the time and location options.

Watch YouTube videos on WhatsApp: If you receive a YouTube video on WhatsApp, you don’t leave the app to watch it. The updated version of WhatsApp allows users to watch YouTube videos directly from within the app.

Money Transfer: WhatsApp recently confirmed plans to bring wireless money transfers to its chat app. The rollout comes after a beta trial of the new peer-to-peer payment system was tested on around one million WhatsApp users.
