“We know solution for everything, but not terrorism. I am happy that Bangladesh Prime Minister, despite being a woman, has declared zero tolerance for terrorism,” Narendra Modi said of his Bangladesh counterpart Sheikh Hasina. Yes, he said, #DespiteBeingAWoman and it started trending on Twitter.

For the last two years ie one year in office and a year before that leading to the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi hasn’t said a word wrong. This is purely when it comes to pleasing the masses. His PR skills have been lauded and been the prime reason for his rise to popularity. He says the right thing or rather exactly what people want to hear. What he does or has achieved so far with his work is another thing altogether.

But, on his Bangladesh visit, he just said something which wouldn’t please the feminists of the world. He complemented her contribution to fight terrorism with the phrase, ‘despite being a woman’. Not surprisingly, Twitteratis haven’t taken to it lightly and attacked the Prime Minister’s statement with satirical statements with hashtag #DespiteBeingAWoman.
