New Delhi: Though Jyotiraditya Scindia was accompanied by top BJP leader and Union home minister Amit Shah when he went to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Shah was not present to welcome him to the party on Wednesday. There is nothing wrong in BJP chief JP Nadda welcoming him in the official ceremony, but Shah’s absence set tongues wagging. Amit Shah was in the Lok Sabha on Wednesday and the timing of Jyotiraditya joining the party got delayed. But Amit Shah could have at least posted a tweet, Madhya Pradesh Congress said early on Thursday, amping up the war going on even after Scindia left the Congress. Also Read - 'Wish Things Were Resolved Internally,' Says Sachin Pilot Day After Jyotiraditya Scindia Quits Congress
“Dear Modi-Shah Ji, you could have at least tweeted on the occasion of Scindiaji joining your party. It’s not yet been 24 hours but you have started insulting him already. After all, he is a Maharaja, belonging to the same family which Shivraj Singh Chouhan holds in high esteem,” the MP Congress handle tweeted.
The Congress, it seems, is undecided on how to treat Scindia’s exit. While Congress leader Digvijaya Singh pointed at the right-leaning sentiment of the Scindia family, later he said Jyotiraditya is like his son. At the same time, he slammed Scindia’s over-ambition and said that he crossed over to the saffron camp to get central post. Congress could have given him an RS post anyway. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, too, broke his silence on Wednesday and said Jyotiraditya could always come to his house.
