New Delhi: In the most dreaded attack on the Indian security forces, a suicide bomber on Thursday rammed his SUV packed with explosives into a CRPF bus on the Srinagar-Jammu highway in Pulwama district, killing at least 40 troopers and injuring many others.

Pakistan-based Jaish-e-Mohammed claimed responsibility of the attack. The group said one of its commanders, Adil Ahmad Dar, was the suicide bomber.

Ahmad, a native of Kakopora, was also known as “Adil Ahmad Gaadi Takranewala” and “Waqas Commando of Gundibagh”. He had joined the terror group last year.

JeM released a video clip of the suicide bomber which it claimed was shot before the young man carried out the audacious attack in Lethpora.
