New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, who got embroiled in Hanuman Chalisa controversy before Delhi Assembly Election 2020, extended his greetings on Hanuman Jayanti and wished for the speedy discovery of ‘sanjeevani’ to fight the deadly disease, seeking Lord Hanuman’s blessings. In Hindu mythology, sanjeevani refers to a cure-all plant that can reverse even death. In the Ramayana, when Lakshmana was severely wounded in the battle, Hanuman was sent to fetch Sanjeevani from Dronagiri mountain in the Himalayas.

During an interview before the election, Kejriwal’s chanting of Hanuman Chalisa raised a few eyebrows on whether he was trying to influence BJP’s Hindu votes. But time and again, the CM clarified that he was a devout worshipper of Hanumanji. It’s not only before this election, he often visits Hanuman temple. After the Aam Aadmi Party won the massive mandate, Kejriwal visited a Hanuman temple seeking blessings.
