In the wake of the poll debacle in the national capital, the budget session in the state assembly is going to be a stormy affair with the opposition likely to raise many issues to corner the Adityanath government. Last year, the Uttar Pradesh Annual Budget 2020 was tabled on February 7 and it was to the tune of Rs 4.79 trillion. However, the state budget for the current financial year has gone up to Rs 4.96 trillion. Also Read - Muslims Did no Favour to India by Staying Here After Partition: Yogi Adityanath

Prior to the presentation of the Uttar Pradesh Annual Budget 2020, the state worked on various ongoing projects such as Purvanchal Expressway, Bundelkhand Expressway and Ganga Expressway. The state government is also working on other infrastructure projects such as Jewar International Airport, Greater Noida and UP Defence Corridor.

Looking at the ongoing developmental projects, it is believed that the Uttar Pradesh Annual Budget 2020 will allocate more funds towards these flagship projects.

Ahead of the Uttar Pradesh Annual Budget 2020, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath held an all-party meeting and sought the support of all the political parties for the smooth conduct of the budget in the House.

However, it would be the first time for UP Governor Anandiben Patel to preside over the Uttar Pradesh Annual Budget 2020 after taking over the role of Governor from her predecessor Ram Naik last year.
