New Delhi: A 32-year-old woman was arrested from Bihar for stealing valuables from the house of an elderly Delhi couple. To nab the woman, over 10,000 pamphlets were issued and 100 CCTV camera footage was scanned. The woman apparently worked as a domestic help in the house of an elderly couple. Police stated that the accused was wanted in more than 12 cases. She was finally arrested in Bihar. The accused, identified as Reena, went under the name of Pinki. After working in a house for a certain period of time, she would make her victims unconscious by spiking their food and escape with valuables including cash, stated the report. The woman had cheated an elderly couple from Janakpuri, according to their complaint dated December 11. Before employing Reena as domestic help, the couple failed to verify her identity, stated police. Later, investigations revealed that the accused had committed a similar crime in Dwarka, Sagarpur and Vikaspuri regions of Delhi.
Reena was in the habit of working in a house for two to three days before robbing it. She had reportedly fled the town after receiving information from an unknown source about the police investigation. So far police have recovered cash worth Rs 17,000 and jewellery worth Rs 5 lakh.
