Bengaluru, May 7: The 224-Assembly constituencies in Karnataka are all set to go to polls. Voting for Yellapur, Hangal, Shiggaon, Haveri (SC) and Byadgi Assembly seats will be held on May 12. Karnataka Assembly Elections 2018 will see a tough contest between the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), the Indian National Congress (INC) and Janata Dal (Secular). Siddaramaiah of the Congress is the current Chief Minister of the state. He was sworn in on May 13, 2013. The results of Yellapur, Hangal, Shiggaon, Haveri (SC) and Byadgi Assembly seats will be announced on May 15. The term of current Karnataka Assembly ends on May 28. Yellapur, constituency number 81, in Karnataka, will go to polls on May 12. The seat was won by Arbail Sbivaram Hebbar of the INC against Patil Veerabhadragoudashivanagouda of the BJP in 2013 Karnataka Assembly Elections. In Karnataka Assembly Elections 2018, the seat will witness a contest between Andalagi Veerabhadragouda Shivanagouda Patil of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Arabail Hebbar Shivaram of the Indian National Congress (INC), Naik Ravindra A of Janata Dal (Secular). Hangal

Hangal, constituency number 82, is currently held by INC’s Manohar H. Tahashildar. He had won it against KJP’s Udasi CM in 2013 Karnataka Assembly Elections. The seat will witness a tough contest between CM Udasi of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Mane Srinivas of the Indian National Congress (INC) and Bommanahalli Babu of Janata Dal (Secular) in Karnataka Assembly Elections 2018. The seat will go to polls on May 12 and the results will be announced on May 15.

Shiggaon

Shiggaon, constituency number 83, is currently held by BJP’s Basavaraj Bommai. He had won it against Khadri Sayed Azimpeer Sayed Kaderbasha of the INC in 2013 Karanataka Assembly Elections. In Karanataka Assembly Elections 2018, the seat will witness a tough contest between Basavaraj Bommai of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Sayed Azeempeer Khadri of the Indian National Congress (INC) and Ashok Bevinamar of JD(S). The seat will go to polls on May 12 and the results will be announced on May 15.

Haveri

Haveri, constituency number 84, was won by INC’s Rudrappa Manappa Lamani in 2013 Karnataka Assembly elections against Neharu Olekara of KJP. The seat is reserved for Scheduled Caste candidates. For Karnataka Assembly Elections 2018, the Congress has fielded Rudrappa Lamani from the seat and Neharu Olekar will contest for the BJP and Sanjay Dange for JD(S). The seat will witness polls on May 12 and the results will be declared on May 15.

Byadgi

Byadgi, constituency number 85, was won by Basavaraj Neelappa Shivannanavar of the INC in 2013 against KJP’s Shivaraj Sajjanar. On May 12, Ballary Virupakshappa Rudrappa will fight the Karnataka Assembly Elections 2018 for BJP against SR Patil of the INC and Shivabasappa Channabasappa Bagannanavar of the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP). The results will be announced on May 15.

The Indian National Congress (INC) won a majority of seats, with 122 out of 224 MLAs, in the 2013 elections.
