Yogi Adityanath announces scholarships for children of landless farmers, linking of welfare schemes to Aadhaar cards: New key decisions

In a host of new decisions taken by the Yogi Adityanath-led Uttar Pradesh government, children of the landless farmers in the state now be provided with scholarships.

Lucknow, Apr 13: In a host of new decisions taken by the Yogi Adityanath-led Uttar Pradesh government, children of the landless farmers in the state now be provided with scholarships. The government also announced the formation of a task force to vacate the government lands and vouched for the linking of all welfare schemes with the Aadhaar card.

According to news agency ANI, the government has also ordered an inquiry into the distribution of ration cards. In another major decision, Adityanath has ordered fresh survey of families below poverty line. The government has also asserted that a new list of the same will be prepared soon.

Since, Adityanath has come to power he has announced a string of major decisions for the welfare of the people and the state. Earlier, while keeping a key poll promise of the BJP, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, at the first meeting of his cabinet, announced his government’s decision to waive loans of Rs 36,359 crore taken by about 94 lakh small and marginal farmers in the state. The Cabinet also decided to open 5,000 wheat procurement centres across the state.

Adityanath has also ordered the changing of the names of various welfare schemes in Uttar Pradesh. After his orders, the word ‘Samajwadi’ has been dropped from various schemes including the Pension scheme. The word ‘Samajwadi’ has been replaced with ‘Mukhyamantri’. Earlier, the word Samajwadi was dropped from the name of 108 ambulance service.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had on April 3 directed DGP Javeed Ahmed to ensure that there was no laxity in improving law and order situation.

After being appointed as the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister following the Bhartiya Janata Party’s  (BJP) landslide victory in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections 2017, Yogi Adityanath ordered the formation of anti-Romeo squads to keep a check on incidents of crime related to women.
