Shamli: A letter claiming threat to the lives of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat was received by Shamli station master on Wednesday. In the wake of the same, security has been beefed up in and around the region.

The threat letter also hints at a plan of attack at railway stations and temples in the city. Taking cognisance of the same, the police have launched an investigation and the forces have been put on alert.

The letter was purportedly sent by terror organisation Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM), reports claimed.

After the receipt of the letter, Deputy Superintendent of Police (GRP) Ramesh Tripathi informed that the security at Shamli railway station has been tightened. Further, frisking of passengers has also been increased.
