Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Yogi Adityanath on Thursday met Prime Minister Narendra Modi at PM’s official residence in the national capital’s Lok Kalyan Marg. Although the minutes of the meeting are yet to be released, reports have it that Yogi had invited the Prime Minister for the ‘Ardh-Kumbh’, which is slated to be held in Prayagraj (earlier Allahabad) the coming month.
If reports are to be believed, CM Yogi also brought up Bulandshahr violence issue, wherein two people including a senior police officer Subodh Kumar Singh were killed by a mob of nearly 400 people.
On Thursday, the chief minister met the family members of the slain inspector at his Kalidas Marg residence in Lucknow and assured them justice. CM Adityanath also ordered strict action against cow slaughter, unlawful trade in cattle and illegal slaughterhouses, amid the ongoing public anger over the cop’s brazen killing.
Yogi Adityanath has drawn flak from the opposition parties for attending a laser show in Gorakhpur when the violence broke out in the district. Demanding CM Yogi’s resignation, the Opposition parties had claimed that such incidents are part of attempts to incite communal unrest in the society ahead of Lok Sabha polls.
