New Delhi: Around 84 per cent people have said that it was Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) right decision to appoint Hindu bigot Yogi Adityanath as the chief minister of country’s most populous state Uttar Pradesh, claims a survey by a rural media platform Gaon Connection. Of the total people who participated in the survey, 22 per cent were students, 21 per cent housewives, 18.7 per cent employees of private jobs, 15.5 per cent traders and 13.8 per cent farmers.
After a month of being sworn in as Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath‘s popularity has soared among the residents, is what the survey claims. The survey by Gaon Connection was conducted among 2,000 respondents spread across 20 districts of the state who hailed Yogi Adityanath’s decisions against VVIP culture, illegal slaughterhouses, the formation of anti-Romeo squads and ban on paan masala and tobacco in government offices and schools.
Of the total participants, 84 per cent people believed that it was a good decision by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to elevate Yogi Adityanath as CM, whereas 12.8 per cent opted for ‘can’t say’ and only 3.2 per cent respondents disliked him.
On being asked about his most impactful decisions, 38.1 per cent appreciated the decision of crackdown on illegal abattoirs while 25.4 per cent respondents opted in favour of Anti-Romeo squads whereas 23.7 per cent people hailed Yogi for asking his minister to furnish asset details within 15 days.
When the residents were asked if the newly appointed chief minister is working in the right direction, 71.6 per cent respondents said ‘yes’, while 24.8 per cent opted for ‘can’t say’, says the survey.
On what should be the main concerns of the Chief Minister in the state, 29.8 per cent people voted for unemployment, 23.8 per cent respondents feel deteriorated law and order must be improved, 17.9 per cent say security of women should be ensured whereas 15.3 per cent opted for agriculture development.
