Israel stated that the strike in Nuseirat on Thursday targeted Hamas and Islamic Jihad militants who were part of the Nukhba forces, which led the October 7 attack on Israel. However, Hamas’s media office accused Israel of carrying out a “horrific massacre.” They said the strike on the school, where displaced Palestinians were sheltering, killed 40 people, including women and children, and injured 74 others.
