Jammu Kashmir News: A tourist couple from Jaipur, Rajasthan sustained critical bullet injuries after they were shot at by suspected terrorists in Anantnag district in the restive south Kashmir region on Saturday evening. According to the police, terrorists fired upon Tabrez and his wife Farha at Yannar in Anantnag during evening hours.
The injured couple, reportedly tourists from Rajasthan’s Jaipur, received bullet injuries in the terrorist attack and have been rushed to a hospital for treatment, the Jammu and Kashmir said in a post on its official X handle.

Following the attack, the area was cordoned off and security forces have launched search operation to hunt down the terrorists, police said, adding that further details are awaited.
“Terrorists fired upon and injured a lady Farha, resident of Jaipur and her spouse Tabrez at Yannar, Anantnag. Injured evacuated to hospital for treatment. Area cordoned off. Further details shall follow,” the Jammu and Kashmir Police wrote on X.
Meanwhile, National Conference Chief and former Chief Minister Farooq Abdullah and his son Omar Abdullah condemned the Anantnag terror attack, asserting that “such acts of brutality remain a serious impediment to achieving long-term peace” in Jammu and Kashmir.
In an X post, the NC said the Abdullahs have urged all communities to come together in these challenging times and support efforts towards lasting harmony.
“Their thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their families during this difficult period,” the party wrote.
