Kolkata, Nov 29 : President Pranab Mukherjee today said India must reap its demographic dividend by improving the quality of teaching and focussing on skill development. “Half of our population is below the age of 25 and in the next ten years the largest work force would be in India. This is demographic dividend. We must think how can we use this with the help of training, education and skills,” Mukherjee said at a function organised by the Metropolitan Institution here. He said if we can do that our people will get work all over the world. “Increasing schools is not enough. We have to improve the quality of teaching. We need skill development,” the President said while regretting that more than 2 lakh students seeking high education migrate out of India. He questioned why not even one institute in India ranks among the best in the world. “No Indian scientist has won the Nobel after C V Raman,” the President said.
