Man, mother sentenced to life for murdering wife over dowry

Darbhanga, Apr 22 (PTI) A man and his mother were today awarded life sentence by a court here for murdering his wife over dowry demands about six years ago.

Sessions Court judge Rupesh Deo also slapped a fine of Rs 15,000 each on the two after convicting them for the crime.

Additional Public Prosecutor Rambriksha Sahni said the two convicts had strangulated the woman to death after her family failed to give a motorcycle in dowry, at Baheri in Bihar’s Darbhanga district on August 10, 2011.
