Mani Ratnam is known to weave unforgettable stories by bringing together some of the best actors in the industry. And this time, for his latest movie, Chekka Chivantha Vaanam, it’s going to be no exception. The principal cast of the film includes big names like, Silambarasan, Arvind Swami, Vijay Sethupathi, Arun Vijay, Jyothika, Aditi Rao Hydari, Jayasudha, Prakash Raj. Reports suggest that Fahaad Faasil was initially considered for the role that later on went to Arun Vijay. As per latest reports, the shooting of the film has been wrapped up in Serbia with the shoot schedule with Simbu being completed recently.
The film, that will be shot by ace cinematographer–Santosh Sivan, is expected to be a crime drama set in Chennai. Mani Ratnam films are known for their music and like most of them, this one too will have the filmmaker collaborate with the iconic composer, AR Rahman. Reports seem to suggest that Rahman is all set to complete the background score of the film as soon as possible.
‘Chekka Chivantha Vaanam’, which went on the floors earlier this year, is one of the highly anticipated films. In fact, the first look poster of the film created waves on the internet. A lot has been spoken about the film, especially after Ratnam’s last film, Kaatru Veliyidai , failed to impress the masses and the BO. Bollywood actress Aditi, who worked with Ratnam in Kaatru Veliyidai, is, needless to say, excited to work with him for the second time with such an interesting cast in this film. She was quoted by Indian Express as saying, “Another film with Mani sir is a blessing. While shooting for Kaatru Veliyidai, I was living my childhood dream of working with my favourite director. It was surreal and thrilling at the same time. It was such an enriching experience. I got hooked to his style and discipline of filmmaking, and I can’t wait to be on his sets again.”
