Mukesh Ambani vs Elon Musk: Starlink CEO breaks silence over Indian govt's decision, says ‘Will do…’

Starlink and Tesla CEO Elon Musk hailed the Centre’s decision to not conduct an auction for satellite broadband spectrum allocation . The Centre said that the allocation will be done administratively, not via auction.

Tesla CEO Elon Musk wrote on X, “Much appreciated! We will do our best to serve the people of India with Starlink.” Earlier, Reliance Jio’s Mukesh Ambani and Airtel’s Sunil bharti Mittal were demanding an auction for the allocation of satellite spectrum. Musk had stated that it would be a violation of ITU.

Musk took to X and wrote that the decision of auction ‘would be unprecedented.’ “That would be unprecedented, as this spectrum was long designated by the ITU as shared spectrum for satellites,” He wrote on X.

Elon musk and Mukesh Ambani were at loggerheads over the allocation of satellite broadband spectrum. Reliance Jio got backing of Sunil Bharti Mittal’s Airtel who also pitched for auction, but Union minister Jyotiraditya Scindia cleared that it will be done administratively not through auction.
