Mumbai’s Tansa Lake begins overflowing, three gates opened
BMC has reported that Tansa Lake, a key water source for Mumbai, began overflowing at 4:16 PM on Thursday. In response, three gates of the Tansa Dam have been opened, releasing water at a rate of 3,315 cusecs. The lake’s total storage capacity is 14,508 crore liters.
MSRTC suspends bus services in Thane
The Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) has suspended bus services on several routes in Thane district due to persistent heavy rainfall. According to an official release, services have been halted on at least a dozen routes, including five in Murbad, and routes serviced by the Wada, Thane, Kalyan, and Vithalwadi depots.
